Rhian Sugden is pregnant! Big Brother star reveals she is finally expecting her first baby with husband Oliver Mellor after six years and eight rounds of IVF

The former Celebrity Big Brother star, 37, revealed she is expecting her first child with husband Oliver Mellor on Sunday and is already 16 weeks pregnant.

In gorgeous snaps of the pair, the couple announced the joyful news after six years and eight gruelling rounds of IVF.

Sharing the news to Hello! magazine, Rhian said: ‘We’re over the moon, our lives are going to change so much, which is very exciting.’

The Coronation Street star said: ‘I can’t wait for the baby to be born, I’ll pump my fist to the sky and shout, “‘I’m a dad!”

The couple, who are expecting their baby May 4, admitted there were times they feared they would never be able to get pregnant.

Rhian had difficulty getting pregnant due to her low egg count and perimenopausal hormone levels and were only given just a three percent chance of conceiving naturally.

The couple turned to IVF and went through seven rounds over the course of six years, costing an enormous £130,000.  

But just before they gave up, they give the treatment one last time and took a pregnancy test nine days in – where she was greeted with the incredible news.

Oliver added: ‘I was woken up by her calling out, “Oh my God, I’m pregnant!”, When I opened my eyes, I could see her holding up the stick from the test and smiling at me. I’ll never forget the expression of sheer joy on her face, or the happiness and relief I felt inside.’

Rhian has revealed she has taken several pregnancy tests a day ‘just to make sure’, as the news doesn’t yet feel real, she explained.

It comes after she showed off her jaw-dropping figure on Tuesday in a slew of sizzling snaps from a photoshoot with May Contain Girl and Pony Magazine. 

 put on a very busy display in a plunging grey bodysuit, while accessorising with legwarmers as she sat crossed-legged on a stool.

Rhian sported a bronzed makeup palette which accentuated her natural features with a swipe of nude lipstick, while her golden locks were styled straight.

Last month, the TV personality broke her silence and discussed her short lived fling with Russell Brand after the bombshell Dispatches documentary.

The show saw the comedian, 48, accused of sexual assaults and abusive and predatory behaviour between 2006 and 2013, when he was at the height of his fame. He has denied the allegations.

Rhian, who insisted nothing untoward happened when they were together, did however claim Russell joined the No More Page 3 campaign in 2014 after failing to ‘s**g his way through’ its list of models.

The Get Him To The Greek star previously came out in support of the crusade claiming the love of a ‘good woman’ [wife Laura Brand ] had slain his ‘sexist teenage’ self.

Taking to X, which was formerly known as Twitter , Rhian wrote: ‘I had reporters and Dispatches knocking on my parents door months back asking for information on Russell Brand as we briefly dated when I was younger.

‘He was always very pleasant to me and treated me well. Despite him attempting to s*** his way through other page 3 girls and getting declined he soon went full circle and joined a “No More Page 3 campaign” to get us shut down.

‘I can’t comment on the allegations that have been made against him, I’ve no scoop on the fella except his hair used to smell bad and he definitely wasn’t the one that got away.(sic)’

Rhian has been married to actor Oliver Mellor, 42, since 2018 and the couple have spent £75,000 trying to conceive a baby.

The model, who has undergone six unsuccessful rounds of IVF, said she previously dreamed of having ‘four or five’ little boys running around but would ‘now feel lucky to have just one’.
