30-year-old held in Gautam Buddha Nagar with fake notes worth Rs 38,000

Noida: A 30-year-old man was arrested on Friday from GT Road with fake notes worth over Rs 38,000 in various denominations. Police also seized the printer used to make the notes.
The accused, Abdul Rakeeb, a resident of Ghazipur in Delhi and a native of Muzaffarpur, learned to make fake notes on YouTube. “Cops arrested Rakeeb from GT Road in Chhapraula village on Friday and recovered fake notes worth Rs 38,220. They also seized a HP printer, used to make the fake notes, from his house in Ghazipur,” said Rajeev Dixit, ADCP, central Noida.
“An FIR has been filed against Rakeeb under IPC sections 489A (whoever counterfeits, or knowingly performs any part of the process of counterfeiting, any currency note or bank note), 489B (using as genuine, forged or counterfeit currency notes or bank notes), 489C (possession of forged or counterfeit currency notes or bank notes) and 489D (making or possessing instruments or materials for forging or counterfeiting currency notes or bank notes). He was sent to judicial custody,” said Ravindra Kumar, the SHO of Badalpur police station. Rakeeb had an accomplice, Pankaj, and cops are looking for him. TNN
