RBI had introduced a 3-month mortgage moratorium in March

As many as 3.2 crore account holders in state-owned banks availed the moratorium on loans introduced by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), amid the financial misery brought on as a result of COVID-19 pandemic, the official Twitter deal with of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s workplace, stated on Thursday.

In one other tweet, the federal government stated that in March and April, the general public sector banks (PSBs) sanctioned loans value Rs 5.66 lakh crore for greater than 41.81 lakh accounts, including that these debtors belong to the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME), retail, agriculture and company sectors.

The finance minister’s workplace additionally stated that loans value Rs 77,833 crore have been sanctioned to non-banking finance firms (NBFCs) and housing finance firms (HFCs).

In March, the central financial institution had introduced that each one time period loans, together with retail and crop loans and dealing capital funds, shall be coated by the three-month moratorium.
